Patricia dos Santos Ferreira

Ecologist graduated from São Paulo State University (UNESP), Rio Claro campus (Institute of Biosciences - IB). Has experience in Ecology and Ornithology, with an emphasis on understory passerines. During her undergraduate studies, she developed the research project "Frugivory, seed dispersal, and home range of reintroduced Black-fronted Piping-guans (Aburria jacutinga) in the Atlantic Forest," funded by FAPESP. She holds a master's degree from the same institution, where she conducted the project "Effects of fragmentation on morphological patterns of understory birds," also supported by FAPESP. She completed a sandwich period at the Instituto de Ecología A.C. (INECOL) in Mexico, deepening her studies in Neotropical bird ecology. She participated in the 2nd edition of the Avifauna Monitoring Training Program, offered by the Mantiqueira Bird Observatory. She has field experience in bird banding and point count sampling. Her research interests include bird ecology, functional morphology, biogeography, and biodiversity conservation, aiming to understand how environmental changes influence morphological traits and the structure of bird communities in the Atlantic Forest.
