Holds a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences (Licenciatura Plena) from the Federal University of São Carlos, and a Masters and Ph.D. in Sciences concentration in Hydraulics and Sanitation from the University of São Paulo / EESC, conducted at the Continental Waters and Effluents Biotoxicology Laboratory. Completed postdoctoral research at the Biological Processes Laboratory at the University of São Paulo, São Carlos campus, with an emphasis on hydrogen production using microalgae and wastewater treatment.Has experience in microbiology (algae, filamentous fungi, yeasts, and bacteria), taxonomy of microalgae and cyanobacteria, techniques for isolation and cultivation of microalgae, cyanobacteria, and yeasts, ecotoxicology, biofuel production in photobioreactors, and the use of microalgae and cyanobacteria for wastewater treatment. In addition, works on bioethanol production from agro-industrial residues.Currently serves as a Level VI A Professor at the State University of Minas Gerais (UEMG), Passos-MG campus, and as a Collaborating Researcher at the University of São Paulo (EESC/USP). Coordinator of the Microbiological Processes Laboratory at UEMG/Passos, working in the fields of microbiology and environmental biotechnology. Leader of the CNPq Research Group on Applied Environmental Microbiology and a research member of the CNPq Research Group on Microorganism Physiology and Biotechnology. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
