He hold degree in Chemistry with Technological Attributions from the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), master's degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and doctorate in Science with emphasis on Physical Chemistry also from UFSCar. During his doctorate he did an internship at the University of Helsinki in Finland under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Pedro Camargo.
