GUILHERME SALVADOR PERES NETO graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (2022). During his undergraduate studies, he conducted scientific research (FAPESP) (2020-2022) at the Department of Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry at Unesp Araraquara. Currently, he is a master's student in the Chemistry program and conducts research in the field of Sanitary Engineering, focusing on the subarea of Wastewater Treatment, also at Unesp Araraquara. His current research project aims to understand how the toxic effect of heavy metals varies according to the substrate provided in sulfidogenic bioreactors. As part of his master's degree, he is involved in an internship and research program abroad at the University of Galway, where he studies the addition of a co-substrate in sulfidogenic reactors fueled with lignocellulosic substrate, aiming to improve the acclimation of sulfate-reducing microorganisms in continuous-flow reactors.
