Stefanny Christie Monteiro Titon

She holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Paraíba, with a Bachelor's degree (2007) and a second Bachelor's degree (2010). Master's degree (2013) and PhD (2017) in General Physiology from the University of São Paulo. She has experience in animal physiology, with an emphasis on immunology and the physiology of the endocrine system, particularly in relation to the stress response. She studied the relationship between reproductive behavior, endocrinology, and immunity in amphibians in the context of Ecoimmunology. She develops works related to Ecoimmunology, mainly in the context of the response to stressors, including various aspects of the immune and endocrine systems in amphibians. The context of the immune-pineal-ocular axis in amphibians is also the target of her study. In the latter, she aims to understand how infections modulate central (ocular and pineal) and local (immune cells) melatonin in amphibians. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
