He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín, validated by the Universidade Federal de São Carlos - UFSCar (1998). He completed his master's degree in Chemical Engineering at UFSCar (2002) and his PhD in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry) at the Universidade de São Paulo - USP (2006). He conducted postdoctoral research at the Instituto de Química de São Carlos, USP (FAPESP) from 2006 to 2009 and an internship at the University of Southampton (UK) with a CAPES scholarship from 2017 to 2018. He leads the "Electrochemistry and Nanotechnology" research group (CNPq) and coordinates the Electrochemistry and Nanotechnology Laboratory at the Instituto de Tecnologia e Pesquisa. He is the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Process Engineering (PEP) at Universidade Tiradentes and the principal researcher of the Center of Excellence (PRONEX) in Colloidal Systems. He has supervised 5 PhD theses in co-tutelle with the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (ULCM, Spain). He was a full member of the Superior Chamber and coordinator of the Engineering and Computing area of FAPITEC (2014/2015). He has published 176 articles in high-impact international journals and 265 papers at scientific events, in addition to 8 book chapters, 1 granted patent, and 5 patent applications. He has an h-index of 36 on SCOPUS, 35 on Web of Science, and 42 on Google Scholar. He has trained 20 master's students, 22 PhD students, and supervised 6 undergraduate theses, as well as 64 scientific initiation projects. He supervised 10 postdoctoral projects and 1 Special Visiting Researcher. Students mentored by the researcher have completed internships in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Cuba, and England. The researcher ranked among the top 2 most relevant researchers in the areas of Energy and Engineering in the "September 2022 data-update for Updated science-wide author databases of standard citation indicators" ranking (https://elsevier.digitalcommonsdata.com/datasets/btchxktzyw/4). He participated in 43 research, extension, and development projects, coordinating 16 of them. He has received awards such as the WIPO Gold Medal, "TOP 25 Hottest Articles" in the journal Electrochemistry Communications, and the João Ribeiro Award for Scientific Dissemination and Technological Innovation (2018 - FAPITEC/SE). He has been and continues to be a member of the Fiscal Council of the Brazilian Society of Electrochemistry and Electroanalysis (2017-2019 and 2023-2025), the Advisory Council (2019-2022), and is a founding member of the society. He has been a member of the External Evaluation Committee of PIBIC since 2015 and was also a member of the Scientific Committee of Universidade Tiradentes (2011-2022). He works in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, focusing on Electrochemistry, Electrocatalysis, wastewater treatment, electrode synthesis, CO2 reduction, alcohol oxidation catalysts, electroanalysis, and nanomaterials.
