He has undergraduate (BA and BS) in Geography from the State University of Ceará (2002) and MA in Geography from the State University of Ceará (2005). PhD in Geography from the Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP, Rio Claro, with sandwich period at the Université de Paris X, Nanterre, and scholarship from the Foundation of the State of São Paulo - FAPESP. He is currently Associate Professor, Department of Geography of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN, Graduate Program Professor and Research in Geography UFRN, a research group coordinator GEORISCO - environmental dynamics, Risk and Planning and CNPq researcher. Received the Award for Best Thesis by the National Association of Graduate Studies in Geography - ANPEGE, in 2011, the Capes Theses Award in the field of Geography in 2012. Recently, held postdoctoral fellow at the United Nations University in Bonn and supplementary period at the Institute of Regional Development Planning, University of Stuttgart, also in Germany. He has experience in Physical Geography with an emphasis on Geomorphology, acting on the following topics: geo-environmental analysis, urban environmental problems, urban and watershed rivers, environmental and spatial planning, but mostly on indicators of risk and vulnerabildades, and natural disasters .
