Birthplace: Brazil

PhD student in Science and Technology Studies (STS) at Cornell University, with Minors in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (FGSS) and Media Studies. My main areas of interest include queer and feminist STS, trans/travesti studies, intersectional transfeminism, decoloniality and anti-coloniality, political and medical anthropology, history of medicine, critical policy studies, and counter-epistemologies. I hold a BA in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Anthropology, and an MSc in Social Anthropology at UNICAMP (Brazil), following an MA in the History in the Public Sphere (HIPS) program, with a qualification in Historical Politics, in a consortium between CEU (Hungary), TUFS (Japan), and NOVA (Portugal). I'm also the co-founder of the Brazilian Network for Trans/Travesti Studies, and the creator of the Brazilian Trans/Travesti Library. Connecting theory and practice, I have worked between academic research, activism, critical education projects, and public policy. These include various collaborative projects with and in NGOs, Human Rights organizations, museums and archives, and grassroots movements, particularly on reparative and transitional justice. I have also engaged in visual and media projects, holding internships at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum (Portugal) and the Open Society Archives (Hungary). More recently, I was a Summer Graduate Fellow in Digital Humanities (Cornell University Library and Cornell Society for the Humanities). I'm currently a Fellow in Peace and Conflict Studies (Cornell Einaudi Center). Email: brume.dezembro@gmail.com. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
