Holds a Bachelor's and a Licentiate degree in History from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (2002), and a Master's and Ph.D. in Political Sociology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2005 and 2012). Since 2013, has been a faculty member at the Institute of the Sea of the Federal University of São Paulo (IMar/UNIFESP). Is a member of the Transdisciplinary Center for Environment and Development (NMD/UFSC) and the Laboratory for Research in Sociotechnical-environmental Interactions (LISTA/UNIFESP). Has experience in the field of Political Ecology, working mainly on the following topics: socio-environmental conflicts, coastal management and decoloniality, transdisciplinarity in research and education, traditional coastal peoples, and marine-coastal extractive reserves.
