Rodrigo is a PhD student in the Graduate Program (PPG) in Functional and Molecular Biology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo (ICB-USP). By the same program, he obtained a MSc degree (2025 - Area: Physiology and Pharmacology), having been awarded an Research Internship Abroad (BEPE) scholarship from FAPESP, developing studies at the Division of Cell Biology, Department of Human Biology, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Cape Town (South Africa). He graduated in Biomedical Sciences at ICB-USP (2022), and was a Scientific Initiation scholarship holder from CNPq (2019-2020) and FAPESP (2020-2022). His work essentially consists of two fronts: i) the development of formulations for the delivery of seriniquinone, a natural marine product that is a candidate for antineoplastic and antifungal drugs, using nanotechnology and tissue engineering strategies in his studies and ii) understanding the role of dermicidin as a pharmacological target of seriniquinone in melanoma.
