Anne Karoline Dimas dos Santos is a researcher affiliated with the University of São Paulo (USP), with an emphasis on public policies, political representation and social inclusion. Her research focuses on the role of trans parliamentarians in the Brazilian Legislative Assembly, the challenges faced by the trans population in the formal job market and the underrepresentation of historically marginalized groups in spaces of institutional power. Her academic production includes the analysis of trans candidacies, the transformation of the political image of the LGBTQIA+ population and the effects of diversity on the formulation of public policies, using theoretical frameworks such as Agenda-Setting, Punctuated Equilibrium and Narrative Policy Framework. She holds a bachelor's degree in Public Policy Management from the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities of the University of São Paulo (EACH-USP), which she will complete in 2024. She worked as a FAPESP TT2 fellow at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of USP (ICB-USP) between 2020 and 2021, developing activities to support scientific research. She has professional experience as a chemistry technician at Mirscience Therapeutics (until April 2021) and, since 2023, has worked as a strategic planning analyst at Itaú Unibanco. Her research interests include political representation, diversity policies in the labor market, LGBTQIA+ rights and regulation of public policies aimed at gender equity and gender identity.
