Professor at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), São Paulo, Brazil, and a faculty member of the Graduate Programs in Science, Technology, and Society and in Information Science. She coordinates the Undergraduate Program in Social Sciences and leads the Interfaces - Center for Sociopolitical Studies of Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence, a research center certified by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Her expertise lies in Computational Social Science and Social Data Science. She holds a PhD in Political Science from UFSCar and conducted postdoctoral research at the Faculty of Information Sciences at Complutense University of Madrid. She has also been a visiting scholar at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3), coordinated by Prof. Dr. Manuel Castells, and a mobility researcher at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. She holds a Masters degree in Social Sciences, along with Bachalors and Teaching degrees in Social Sciences. Her additional training includes graduate degrees in data science (UFSCar), social network analysis (University of São Paulo - USP/University College London), scientific computing and data analysis with Python (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul), and statistics for data science with R (UFRGS/UFSCar). Her research interests encompass artificial intelligence, algorithmic culture, social networks, sentiment analysis, multimodal artifacts, echo chambers, political communication, open data, disinformation, hate speech, digital ethnography, causal inference, explainability, algorithmic biases, platform capitalism, informational behavior, and intersectional studies. She was awarded first prize for Relevant Research in the academic awards edition of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Investigadores en Campañas Electorales (ALICE). Additionally, she is trained in the Mindfulness-Based Health Promotion (MBHP) protocol. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
