Mauro Eugênio Medina Nunes

Holds a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the Federal University of Pampa (UNIPAMPA) (2013), a Master's degree (2015), and a Ph.D. (2019) in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Toxicological Biochemistry from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), as well as a teaching certification through the Special Teacher Training Program at the same institution (2019). Has teaching experience acquired during mandatory teaching assistantships during graduate studies, teaching General Biochemistry for Veterinary Medicine, Biology, and Biotechnology undergraduate programs. Also has experience teaching Microbiology in the Nursing Technician course. Additionally, has taught short professional training courses for Laboratory Assistant in Clinical Analysis and worked as an independent tutor on the Superprof teaching platform.Completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Biological Sciences Program (Molecular Biology) at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) (2020-2024), where served as a research fellow (FAPESP) in the Exercise Genetics and Metabolism Laboratory, investigating the transgenerational effects of physical exercise. Possesses extensive experience in the fields of molecular biology, toxicology, ecotoxicology, behavioral biology, oxidative stress, neuroprotection, and the use of complementary animal models, with a special focus on Zebrafish. Currently, is a research fellow (PDJ-CNPq) at the Oxidative Stress and Cellular Signaling Laboratory at UNIPAMPA (São Gabriel campus), investigating the combined effects of sleep deprivation with nicotine and caffeine consumption.
