Is currently Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre, liked to the Department of Applied Hard and Social Sciences. Was visiting Professor at the University of Uberlândia - Monte Carmelo Campus. Did a 3 year postdoc at the Nuclear and Energy Research Institute in São Paulo, with a project related to the optimization of production techniques and investigation of the viability of the MgB4O7:Ce,Li as a dosimetric material, under the supervision of Dr. Linda V. E. Caldas. Has a PhD in Nuclear Engineering by the University of Pisa, Italy, with a thesis based on the study of solid state nuclear track detectors, CR-39 in particular, which, in general terms, aimed and managed to optimize its response to neutrons. Also in Italy, in the University of Rome Tor Vergata, concluded a Specialization course in Protection against Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear events, level: advisor. Started his academic research life in the Radiochemistry Group of the Department of Nuclear Energy (DEN)/UFPE, where was a member for 2 years and won a 1 year PIBITI scholarship to work in the optimization of collimators used in single beam industrial tomography. After that, moved to the Dosimetry and Nuclear Instrumentation Group of the same department, where worked for 3 years with the study, synthesization, and characterization of new TL and OSL materials; in the first year as a technician (with scholarship), and in the 2 following years did his Masters degree (winning a scholarship from FACEPE), having researched primarily calcium fluoride doped with thulium (CaF2:Tm).
