Clarissa Alves da Rosa

I am a member of the Management Committee of the Western Amazon Biodiversity Research Program (PPBio-Amoc), the Long-Term Ecological Research Program of Western Pará (PELD-POPA), and the Advanced Center for Action Research in Conservation and Ecosystem Restoration of the Amazon (CAPACREAM). I am a researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology in Amazon Biodiversity Synthesis (INCT-SinBiAm) and at the INCT Center for Integrated Studies on Amazon Biodiversity (INCT-CENBAM). I was the founder and am a co-founder of the Brazilian Network of Transport Ecology Experts (REET Brasil).I hold a Bachelor's degree in Ecology from the Universidade Católica de Pelotas (2009) and a PhD in Applied Ecology from the Universidade Federal de Lavras (2016). I am currently a faculty member in the Graduate Program in Ecology and the Professional Masters in Conservation Unit Management at the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA).My research focuses on Fauna Management, Biological Invasions, Road Ecology, Community Ecology, Vertebrate Ecology, Fauna-Flora Interactions, Land Use Changes, Climate Change, Ethnoecology, and Biodiversity Synthesis, with an emphasis on tropical ecosystems. My projects are based on the dialogue between Science and Society, including the participation of leaders from traditional and Indigenous communities, decision-makers, and policymakers.The projects I develop in the Amazon aim to integrate biodiversity and ecosystem studies with the sustainable management of natural resources, involving traditional and Indigenous communities. My research seeks to understand how anthropogenic and climatic stressors impact biodiversity and the land-use practices of local communities. As a researcher, I aim to provide society with information and tools that promote the healthy and sustainable management of natural resources.My focus has been to address applied research questions with the goal of contributing to biodiversity conservation, providing a solid scientific foundation for decision-making related to the management of natural resources.
