I am currently a postdoctoral researcher (FAPESP) at the University of São Paulo, Piracicaba campus (USP-ESALQ), where I also served as a Collaborating Professor. I completed postdoctoral research through the Synergize-RAS project (SinBiose-CNPq) and at the University of Stirling, United Kingdom. I hold a Ph.D. in Botany from the National Institute of Amazonian Research (INPA), with a sandwich program (CAPES) at the University of Arkansas (USA), and research stays at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry (Jena, Germany) and at UNESP (Rio Claro, Brazil). I have a degree in Forest Engineering from the Federal University of Viçosa and a Master's in Tropical Forest Sciences from INPA.I currently serve as an Associate Editor for the journal Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment (Wiley, IF 2021: 10.3). My main research interests include tropical forest ecology, climate change and extreme weather events, forest restoration, secondary forests, forest degradation, biodiversity, remote sensing of vegetation, dendrochronology, and the Atlantic Forest, Amazon, and Cerrado biomes.
