Maria Auxiliadora Silva de Oliveira graduated as a Bachelor on Chemistry from University of São Paulo, Brazil (1980), Doctorate on Chemistry (Inorganic Chemistry) from University of São Paulo, Brazil (1986), Post-Doctorate on Corrosion from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) (1996) and Brookhaven National Laboratory (1998). She was a Professor at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) from 1983 to 2004, retiring from this Institute in the mid of 2004. Since then, she has been an Associate Professor at this same Institute, founding the Gas Turbine Corrosion Studies Laboratory, advising graduate students on the ITA´s Aeronautics and Mechanical Engineering Post- graduation program, on Physics and Chemistry of Airspace Materials, giving classes at graduation level, coordinating and participating of Development and Research Projects, especially those with the ANEEL agency, keeping in contact with industries, searching for new projects in order to get founds to maintain, and bring new equipments to improve the Corrosion Studies Laboratory. She has experience on Chemistry with emphasis on Corrosion, Aluminum corrosion, Gas Turbine hot Corrosion, Surfaces Modification, and Thin Films. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
