Laila Maria de Carvalho

Oceanographer from Centro Universitário Monte Serrat (UNIMONTE) with a full scholarship from ProUni and a Master of Science with an emphasis in Aquaculture and Fisheries from the Fisheries Institute of São Paulo. Worked as the lead researcher on a PIPE FAPESP project at AquaSmart (2020-2021), developing technical solutions and analyses.She was a monitor, environmental educator, and taxidermist during her internship at the Museu do Mar in Santos. For five years, she worked as a researcher and project and planning coordinator at the Cavalos do Mar Project, representing the institution on the Advisory Council of the Mosaico Bocaina and joining the organizing committee of the Marine Conservation Congress (ConMar).She has experience in marine conservation, protected areas, coastal planning, environmental analysis, sustainability, geoprocessing, hydrodynamics, sedimentology, fisheries resources, environmental education, and ornamental aquaculture.Currently, she is a rural producer and founder of Café 5 Marias, a sustainable family farming enterprise.
