Abstract
Cephamycin C (CepC) is a beta-lactam compound first isolated from Streptomyces clavuligerus as an inhibitor of the synthesis of the Gram-negative cell wall. Later it was discovered that, besides displaying this inhibitory activity, CepC was resistant to degradation by beta-lactamases.
