Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). Faculdade de Engenharia Civil, Arquitetura e Urbanismo (FEC)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Professor at the Civil Engineering Department of the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). Graduated in Civil Engineering from Unicamp. Did his Master's in hydraulic fracturing simulation with finite elements and elastoplasticity at Unicamp advised by Prof. Philippe Remy Bernard Devloo. Also worked as a researcher in the company SimWorX Research and Development of Computer Programs in computer simulation projects applied to the oil and gas industry. Obtained his PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign advised by Prof. Carlos Armando Duarte studying new computational and mathematical developments using the Generalized Finite Elements Method for three dimensional simulation of hydraulic fracturing and guided waves. Has experience in the area of numerical simulation, with emphasis on object oriented programming for finite elements. Acts mainly on the following topics: Multiphysics phenomena, guided waves, elastoplasticity, high performance computing, mixed formulations, hp adaptivity, stability and hydraulic fracturing of wells.
