Birthplace: Brazil

Bachelors degree in Biotechnology from UFSCar, Masters degree in Bioprocesses from the same institution, and Ph.D. in Sciences (Immunology) from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a visiting fellowship at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), USA. My research focuses on the interface between immunometabolism and mitochondrial biophysics, aiming to uncover the molecular mechanisms regulating macrophage immune-metabolic function. During my Ph.D., I elucidated the role of the mitoKATP ion channel in driving LPS-induced tolerance, providing new insights into key processes of innate immune regulation. I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Immunology Program of UNICAMP, investigating how stabilization of the transcription factor HIF-1#945; modulates mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolic reprogramming in LPS-activated macrophages. My long-term goal is to integrate immunometabolism and biophysics to establish the emerging field of immunobiophysics, paving the way for the identification of novel therapeutic targets for inflammatory and infectious diseases.
