He has a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Extremo Sul Catarinense (2008-2011, PROUNI), a master's degree (2013-2014, CNPq) and a doctorate (2015-2018, CNPq) in Biological Sciences (Entomology area) from the Federal University of Paraná, with a doctorate sandwich (2017) at the American Museum of Natural History (NY, USA) financed by the PDSE/Capes Program, and post-doctorate by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), linked to the Laboratory of Comparative Biology of Hymenoptera (LBCH) of the Federal University of Paraná (2019-2020). He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters (FFCLRP), University of São Paulo (USP), linked to the Laboratory of Comparative Biology and Bees (LBCA ). During 2022 and 2023 he developed part of his post-doctoral research at the Museum für Naturkunde (Berlin, Germany) with a Research Internship Abroad Grant (BEPE) from FAPESP. He has experience and works in the areas of Entomology, Zoology and Paleontology, with an emphasis on in taxonomy and systematics of recent and fossil groups, applying molecular and morphological studies. His lines of research focus on the study of the systematics and evolution of Apoidea (Insecta, Hymenoptera), and on new methods of phylogenetic and macroevolutionary inference, such as estimating divergence times between lineages and data partitioning in Bayesian approaches.
