Maria Eduarda is a Master's student in Global Affairs, majoring in International Peace Studies, at the University of Notre Dame (South Bend, Indiana, USA). Research fellow at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies (2024-2026), and Graduate Fellow at the 63rd UN Graduate Study Program at the United Nations Office in Geneva (2025). International Peace Studies Representative (2026) at the Keough School of Global Affairs. She holds a bachelor's degree in international relations, summa cum laude, from São Paulo State University (UNESP), and participated in academic exchanges at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and the University of Coimbra (UC). She is a researcher in peace and gender studies. She is a member of the Defense and International Security Studies Group (GEDES) and an associate member of the Brazilian Association of Defense Studies (ABED). She is also a young peace volunteer. From 2021 to 2024, she worked as a member of the communications team at the Brazilian Association of International Relations (ABRI), and from 2019 to 2021, she was the coordinator of the Prospective Scenarios and Future Studies Group (GECEF) at UNESP Franca. She participated in the Nucleus of Studies in Public Policies (NEPPs) and the Red de Investigadores y Gestores en Internacionalización de la Educación Superior (REDALINT), assisting as a volunteer researcher in developing research projects and providing databases. She received the award for Best Scientific Research in the Humanities at the XXXV CIC UNESP and other awards at national congresses. She has also served as a mentor for BRASA, an association of young Brazilians pursuing studies abroad that facilitates the growth of other Brazilians through educational initiatives, as well as for the Latin American Leadership Academy (LALA), a Latin American association dedicated to advancing education. Outside of her academic pursuits, she engages in creative poetry writing and has a profound interest in the arts, such as dance and theater. Research Interests: Local Turn Peace Studies, Strategic Peacebuilding, Gender Studies, Peace Education, Culture of Peace, Grassroots Organizations in Peace Processes, Art and Peacebuilding, Transitional Justice, Youth and Children in Conflict Zones.
