Allan Kenji Seki

Allan Kenji Seki holds a degree in Psychology (2011), a masters (2014), and a doctorate (2020) in Education from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). During his Ph.D., he completed a research internship in Economics at the Centre dÉconomie de lUniversité Sorbonne Paris Nord (CEPN) at Université Paris XIII, under the supervision of Laurent Baronian and François Chesnais, deepening his research on the financialization of higher education in Brazil between 1990 and 2018.He worked as a substitute professor at the Center for Education Sciences at UFSC (2014-2016) and served as director of the Escola de Formação Política da Classe Trabalhadora Vânia Bambirra in two periods (2016-2019 and 2020-2023), contributing to the political education of workers and teaching courses on political economy, education, and educational policy.During his postdoctoral research, he was a FAPESP fellow (Grant n 2021/01249-9) at the School of Education at UNICAMP (2021-2023), where he developed research on digital educational technologies in basic education and their relationship with financialization. Subsequently, he undertook a postdoctoral research internship abroad as a visiting researcher at Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis, investigating the EdTech industry in France in the post-pandemic context of SARS-CoV-2, also funded by FAPESP (Grant n 2023/07811-6).He is a member of the Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Políticas Educacionais (GREPPE, UNICAMP, Brazil) and the Grupo de Investigação em Políticas Educacionais (GIPE-MARX).His research focuses on Educational Policy, with an emphasis on the relationships between higher education, educational policies, the economics of education, digital educational technologies, and the financialization of education.
