Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Faculdade de Ciências Farmacêuticas (FCF) (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal) Birthplace: Brazil
Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Pernambuco (2003) and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (2010), in addition to two Post-Doctorates (FCF-USP and FCM-Unicamp), Edgar always found it very difficult to do something that really stood out on Lattes. During his Ph.D., he tried to save the world from environmental pollution by developing a bioprocess for the degradation of textile dyes. Let's say that, after a lot of research, the world still considers textile dye disposal a serious problem. He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Uberlândia in the Biotechnology course and loves being a professor. He has been there since 2012. He founded the Biotechnological Processes Laboratory in 2019, where he works with the selection of microorganisms for agricultural, industrial and environmental use. He is still the coordinator of the laboratory and doesn't even know how to live outside the lab anymore. Despite everything, Edgar continues to try to change the world. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
