Graduated in Chemistry from the Chemistry Institute of the University of São Paulo (USP) and currently a doctoral student in the Postgraduate Program in Biochemistry at the Chemistry Institute of the University of São Paulo (IQ-USP) in a proteomics laboratory focusing on the study of role of HDL in inflammatory diseases. This project aims to develop proteomics protocols applied to different types of samples, such as cell lysates, plasma, and biological tissues, using previously studied and optimized methodologies, and the use of this knowledge to evaluate the effect of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in macrophages activated with bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS).
Among the plasma lipoproteins, high-density lipoprotein(HDL) is responsible for removing excess cholesterol from macrophages in the artery walls in a process called reverse cholesterol transport.
