Gabriel Horacio Aguilar

Degree in Physical Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (2008) and a PhD in Physics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2012). He completed postdoctoral studies at UFRJ (20122014) and at the University of Calgary (20152016). He worked as a Professor at UFRJ between 2016 and 2025, during which time he also coordinated the Quantum Optics Laboratory (20192024). His research focuses on quantum information, quantum decoherence, quantum optics, generation and manipulation of entangled states, quantum communication, and quantum metrology. He is a CNPq researcher (level 2), was a FAPERJ Young Scientist of Our State (20212024), and is a FAPESP Young Investigator (20212026). He is currently a researcher at the Brazilian Center for Physics Research (CBPF), where he works on implementing quantum communication networks as part of the Quantum-Rio-Network project. He is also developing experiments involving quantum optics and neuroscience in the "Quantum Vision" project, funded by Pionner Sciences. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
