Birthplace: Brazil

Chemical graduate from the State University of Maringá, I pursued my master's and doctoral degrees in the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry of UNICAMP, under the guidance of Professor Fernando Galembeck. As a Visiting Scientist in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA), I investigated the electrical behavior of water under flow regimes. Subsequently, I completed my postdoctoral research at the Argonne National Laboratory (Chicago, USA), under the supervision of tribologist Ali Edemir, where I developed innovative work that correlated frictional force with mechanochemical reactions at interfaces in relative motion. Between 2016 and 2022, I worked as a professor in the Department of Physics at UFSM, contributing to the Graduate Programs in Chemistry and Physics at the university. My current work involves atomic force microscopy and its various modes, exploring tribological phenomena correlated with the electro-electronic properties of materials. I am interested in surface properties (functionalization, tribology), functional materials for reuse and energy harvesting, as well as colloidal systems. Currently, I am an Associate Researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology in Complex Functional Materials (INOMAT), and a Livre-Docente Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences at UNESP (Ibilce - S. J. Rio Preto). In 2020, I was honored with the Rising Star Award by the Electrostatics Society of America (ESA). The following year, I was selected for the special edition "Emerging Investigators Themed Collection" of the journal Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (PCCP) - Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), highlighting excellent research conducted by early-career scientists in the areas of physical chemistry, chemical physics, and biophysical chemistry.
