Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Brasília (UnB). Holds a degree in Biotechnology from UnB, and a master's and doctorate in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Molecular Biology also from the same university. Has expertise in processes involving the production of heterologous compounds of industrial interest, from the creation of genetically modified microorganisms to the downstream processing of the target product. Extensive experience in Metabolic and Genetic Engineering of microorganisms, particularly in the creation of genetically modified strains of bacteria and yeast capable of producing high-value products for the industry. Responsible for the creation of the first genetically modified organism producing Hyaluronic Acid in Brazil (patent application number BR 10 2016020186 10). Served as the principal investigator for the PIPE Phase 2 Direct project (2021/11988-3) supported by FAPESP and SEBRAE, focusing on the Production of Hyaluronic Acid Using Recombinant Yeast Kluyveromyces lactis at the University of São Paulo (USP) main campus, resulting in the scaling up of Brazilian Hyaluronic Acid production technology.
