Birthplace: Brazil

He has study precision mechanics in technical and technological levels, such as he acquired manufacturing and project skills in mechanics. During his undergraduation he had worked on Complex Fluid Group, Institute of Physics of University of São Paulo, studying magneto-optical properties of magnetic colloids, focused on induced magnetization and birrefringence by external magnetic field. During this period, he performed an internship at Experimentalphysik V group in University of Bayreuth - Germany, where he had studied rheological properties of magnetic colloids. The research was applied on the development of treatment of tumors. He concluded his master degree at the Phononics Group, Institute of Physics of University of São Paulo, studying spectroscopy of porphyrin molecules, giving emphasis on its non-linear optical properties. The research was applied on de development of photodynamic therapy (PDT), focus on tumor treatment. He concluded his PhD in basic optics at the Photonic's Group, Institute of Physics of University of São Paulo, studying non-linear optical properties of gases, giving emphasis on the caracterization on non-linear refractive index and absorption along hollow core fiber propagation. During this period, he had studied the generation of ultrashort and energetic UV in gases filled hollow core fiber at the Attoscience and Ultrafast Optics group in The Institute of Photonics Sciences - Spain. The research has applications in the development of new sources of attosencond coherent light pulses for science, information propagatio on optical fibers, atmospherics studies, among othes. He have worked as a development physicist for Opto Space & Defence, a company of Akaer Group. He participated of a technology transfer program at Thales Alenia Space - France, dedicated to the project and construction of a high resolution space camera. In this project, he participated of the research and development, assembly and test of a high resolution space camera. Currently, he is contributing with optical and mechanical design of MANIFEST subsytems, which will be a robot fiber positioning system that collect and transfer light for the main astronomic instruments of the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT). The work has been perfomed by the joint effort of Astronomical Instrumentation Group of University of São Paulo and Australian Astronomical Optics Group of Macquarie University.
