Birthplace: Brazil

Bruno Backes Meller holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics (2018) and a Master's degree in Science (2021) and is currently a PhD student in Physics at the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo (IFUSP). During his master's degree, he studied the rapid physical-chemical evolution of the urban plume of Manaus in the Amazon atmosphere, with an emphasis on the properties of atmospheric aerosols. Bruno is currently developing a PhD project at the Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics (LFA) of IFUSP, where he studies the mechanisms of production of atmospheric particles in the Amazon and their physical-chemical properties. During his PhD, he completed two internships at the Max Planck Institute of Chemistry in Mainz, Germany. He participates in several atmospheric measurement campaigns in the Amazon, and uses an extensive database of aerosol and gas measurements obtained in the Amazon region to understand the processes related to the life cycle of aerosols. In addition, he has experience in the processing and analysis of complex databases, especially of real-time mass spectrometry of aerosols and gases. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
