Dr. Olof Ohlson is currently a visiting researcher at The University of Gothenburg, Sweden, collaborating professor and an associated researcher at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, with a Ph.D. in Sociocultural Anthropology from The University of Edinburgh, and an MSc from London School of Economics. Author of Mexico's Rebellious Afterlives: Armed Uprisings and Activism in the Narco War (Lexington Books, 2022), and Fieldnotes from Mexico: La Noche de Iguala (EdUFSCar, 2024). Research interests: (i) religion and rituals (Mexicos Day of the Dead, Transcendental Meditation); (ii) social movements (activism, human rights), and (iii) both classic and experimental ethnography (fieldnotes-based writing, sound installations, ethnographic film-making). Cocreator and organizer of the research group Estudos em Antropologia de Religião (Studies in Anthropology of Religion) at The Postgraduate Program in Social Anthropology (PPGAS) at UFSCar: https://ear-ufscar.webnode.page/?_ga=2.87873496.15705483.1706608895-1218049160.1706608894.
