Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas (ICB)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences from University of Western São Paulo (UNOESTE), with qualifications in Clinical Analysis (sample collection and processing in biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology) and Imaging Diagnostics (radiology, computed tomography, nuclear magnetic resonance, and nuclear medicine). During undergraduate studies, engaged in scientific research projects in microbiology, immunology, and parasitology, focusing on testing new antimicrobial molecules and characterizing bacterial, fungal, and protozoan isolates of medical interest. Also served as a teaching assistant for courses in Immunology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Human Anatomy, and Topographic Anatomy, supporting practical classes, exam administration, and student guidance in the laboratory. In 2021, volunteered in the COVID-19 vaccination program in Presidente Prudente, administering vaccines in Family Health Centers (ESFs), Basic Health Units (UBSs), and Drive-Thru events. Currently, is associaed to the Ph.D. program in Microbiology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICB) at the University of São Paulo (USP) in the Protein Structure and Evolution Laboratory (PSEL). The focus now is on specializing in structural biochemistry techniques for in vitro and in vivo analyses of biological systems. Among his ongoing projects are the purification and physiological characterization of membrane vesicles, structural determination of organic molecules involved in bacterial quorum sensing communication via nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and the purification, biochemical, biophysical, and functional characterization, and three-dimensional reconstruction of proteins through crystallography and cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM). Additionally, studies the infection processes of bacteriophages and human viruses, aiming to apply cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET) to elucidate invasion mechanisms and investigate the viral replication cycle. As an extracurricular activity, he leads the scientific team of the iGEM USP-Brazil team, developing synthetic biology projects involving genetic and metabolic engineering, utilizing BioBricks for the construction of biological circuits.
