Graduated in Biology from the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF), with undergraduate research fellowship at the Laboratorio de Biologia do Reconhecer (LBR/UENF), standardizing the methodology for isolating murine mesenchymal stem cells from lung, bone marrow and dental pulp. She holds a Master's degree in Biosciences and Biotechnology from the Center for Biosciences and Biotechnology at UENF, evaluating the immunomodulatory mechanisms of mesenchymal stem cells in the pathogenesis of tuberculosis. She worked as a teacher assistant in the subjects Topics in Biotechnology and Instrumentation for the Teaching of Genetics of the undergraduate course in Biological Sciences, at UENF/CEDERJ. She holds a PhD in Immunology from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of São Paulo (USP), evaluating the role of CD39 in the purinergic regulation of the inflammatory response in severe tuberculosis. She currently works as a Research Associate at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in the United States evaluating the mechanisms associated with chronic pneumonia after viral infections with a focus on post-COVID-19 and Influenza. She has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Immunology, with an emphasis on Cellular Immunology, working mainly on the following topics: pulmonary immunology, inflammation, purinergic signaling and immunoregulation.
