Fábio Miguel Führ is currently pursuing a PhD in Entomology at Texas AM University in College Station, United States. He worked as a research assistant at the University of Minnesota for one year under Professor Dr. Robert Koch, focusing on Integrated Pest Management in soybeans. Specifically, he worked with Macrosaccus morrisella, a new pest insect in the United States.He holds a Master's degree from the Graduate Program in Entomology at the "Luiz de Queiroz" School of Agriculture (ESALQ/USP), where he conducted research on lepidopteran resistance to insecticides under the supervision of Professor Dr. Celso Omoto in the Insect Resistance Laboratory. He completed his final internship at FMC Química do Brasil S.A. in Paulínia, São Paulo, working in the area of plant pathology under the guidance of researcher Dr. Vanessa Cristine Frare. There, he assisted in the implementation and execution of experiments for the development of new fungicides, nematicides, biological control agents, and activities related to monitoring fungal resistance to fungicides.His academic background also includes a degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). During this period, he was a scholarship member of the UFSM Insect Resistance Research Group (G-PRI), under the supervision of Professor Dr. Oderlei Bernardi, where he developed activities related to Insect Resistance Management (IRM) to insecticides and Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) toxins in some pest insects in Brazil, conducting laboratory tests to characterize susceptibility to insecticides, viruses, and Bt toxins. He also worked on selecting resistant individuals. During his undergraduate studies, he was also a scholarship holder of the Agronomy Tutorial Education Program (PET-Agronomy) for two years and participated in an academic exchange program at the Universidad del Litoral (UNL) in Santa Fe, Argentina.
