Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Química de São Carlos (IQSC)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Evandro Silva holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the State University of Maringá (UEM), where he also obtained a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry (20172019) and a Ph.D. in Sciences with an emphasis in Chemistry (20192022). During his doctoral studies, he conducted research focused on the metabolomics of soybean under biotic stress, with an emphasis on the identification of bioactive compounds involved in plant defense responses, using mass spectrometry and chemometric tools. Between 2024 and 2025, he carried out a research internship at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC) in Spain, working on molecular biology projects with a focus on the functional characterization of genes through gene deletion techniques and integrated metabolomics analysis. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Chemistry of São Carlos (IQSC/USP) and a visiting researcher at the Institute of Chemistry of UNICAMP, where he leads projects focused on the molecular mechanisms of pathogen-host interactions, microbial gene editing, and the development of biotechnological strategies for postharvest disease control. His main areas of expertise include mass spectrometry-based metabolomics, chemometrics, microbial biotechnology, and plant-microbe interactions. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
