Pietra Flores is an undergraduate student in the Chemistry Bachelors program at the Federal University of São Carlos. In 2022, she joined Prof. Dr. Ivo Freitas Teixeiras laboratory as a scientific initiation student, and since then has been developing various projects in the field of heterogeneous photocatalysis, seeking applications for crystalline carbon nitrides coordinated with metallic single atoms. In 2025, she began a four-month research internship abroad, funded by FAPESP (BEPE), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Carla Casadevall. Hosted by the professor at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and the Institut Català d'Investigació Química, she started research in the area of homogeneous photocatalysis, focused on CO#8322; reduction, using crystalline carbon nitrides as photosensitizers.
