Mariana Amaral Dias

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Chemistry at Unicamp, participating in the CNPq/FAPESP Young Doctorates Call. I have been working in Environmental Chemistry since 2014, studying different environmental compartments (air, soil, and water) and organic contaminants (pesticides, hormones, pharmaceuticals, and microplastics). I hold a PhD in Environmental Analytical Chemistry (2019-2023) from Unicamp, where I evaluated the interaction of contaminants associated with microplastics in aquatic environments. I completed a PhD fellowship at Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, UK, where I studied the toxicity of phenanthrene in marine organisms in the presence of microplastics. I also hold a Master's degree in Chemistry (2015-2018) in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from UTFPR-Curitiba, where I developed a methodology for determining pesticides in the atmosphere using low-volume samplers. I have a degree in Chemistry (2010-2014) from UTFPR and a degree in Technology in Bioprocesses and Biotechnology (2006-2009) from Tuiuti University of Paraná. I worked at the Multiuser Laboratory of Chemical Analysis of the Academic Department of Chemistry and Biology of UTFPR (2016-2018) as technical support for the operation of various equipment. I was a DTI CNPq scholarship holder (2014-2016) at the Lactec Institute, working on the implementation of internal procedures and accreditation of tests for the determination of atmospheric pollutants in chimneys and ambient air, meeting the requirements of ISO 17025. I worked at the Paraná Institute of Technology (2008-2011) in the development of methods for the determination of macro and micronutrients in fertilizers and agricultural limestone.
