Angela Rocio Nino Santisteban

In 2022, she started as a PD-FAPESP fellow at the Complex Fluids Group (GFCx) of the Physics Institute of the University of São Paulo - IF/USP, to work with the characterization of low-density lipoproteins (LDL) involved in cardiovascular diseases through Z-Scan. She is currently a PD Junior as a CNPq fellow at GFCx. She works with the characterization and investigation of the optical and structural properties of liquid crystal fluids and ferrofluids applying Z-Scan, microscopy, and SAXS techniques. PhD in Molecular Biophysics from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho-Unesp/IBILCE (2018-2022) where she studies the Exfoliative Toxin E of Staphylococcus aureus as a CAPES fellow. He holds a degree in Biology from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional-UPN in Colombia (2011), where he worked on the diagnosis of Huanglongbing-HLB by qPCR using various molecular biology techniques at the National Laboratory of Phytosanitary Diagnostics of the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA). He was a Laboratory Assistant of Chemistry and Biological Sciences in the Agroecology Engineering Program at the Minuto de Dios University Corporation UNIMINUTO (2011-2012). He holds a Master's Degree in Agricultural Microbiology from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho-Unesp/FCAV (2015), where he studied the Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri pathosystem of citrus canker as a CAPES scholarship holder. He has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;molecular biology, and general biology, with knowledge applied to microbiology and expertise in teaching (biology), working mainly on the following topics: site-directed mutagenesis, cloning, expression, purification by FPLC and HPLC, characterization of proteins using circular dichroism (CD), dynamic light scattering (DLS), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and protein crystallography by X-rays.
