Guilherme Augusto de Melo Jardim

He has a degree in Chemistry, a Master's and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. His doctorate was completed during a one-year sandwich period at the University of Bristol, UK, under the supervision of Professor John Bower, through the Science without Borders program, and his thesis was awarded the UFMG Thesis Prize and an Honorable Mention in the UFMG Thesis Grand Prize. He completed post-doctoral internships at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, under the supervision of Professor Antonio Luiz Braga, the Federal University of São Carlos, under the supervision of Professor Marco Ferreira, and worked in the team led by Professor Luiz Carlos Dias, at DNDi - UNICAMP, in the area of drug discovery for neglected diseases. He has also worked as a visiting professor at the Chemistry Institute of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, in research and teaching at the UFRN Chemistry Postgraduate Program. Guilherme is currently an adjunct professor in the Chemistry Department of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, working in the area of organic synthesis, more precisely in organometallic catalysis and photocatalysis. He has experience in the area of Chemistry, with an emphasis on Organic Synthesis, working mainly on the following topics: synthesis of medicinal and technological compounds, synthesis and applications of luminescent substances, methodological studies (application of new catalysts in Organic Synthesis), C-H bond activation, organometallic catalysis, organocal chemistry, photocatalysis, nanocatalysis and organic electrosynthesis. He has an H factor = 22, 41 publications in high impact factor journals, 2 book chapters and a patent filed in Brazil. He is a reviewer for more than 8 indexed scientific journals.
