Full Professor of Immunology. Works at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia since 2008, graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2001), obtained Master's (2003) and Ph.D. (2007) degree in Animal Pathology at the Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias of the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho and had a post-doctoral position at the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto, Universidade de São Paulo (2007-2008). Acted as Visiting Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics, University of California, Los Angeles (2018-2020). Current coordinator of the Southeast Region of the Brazilian Society of Immunology (SBI) and president of the organizing committee of the "18th International Congress on Toxoplasmosis", organized by the Brazilian Society of Protozoology (SBPz). His research focus on Host-Parasite relationships, using immunological tools and genome editing techniques, to unravel the elicited host immune responses and virulence factors of protozoan of veterinary interest, as Neospora caninum and Toxoplasma gondii.
