CV Lattes ORCID

Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). Faculdade de Ciências Médicas (FCM)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Holds a degree in Pharmacy from Faculdade Unida de Campinas (2015), a master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Universidade Federal de Goiás (2018), and a doctorate in Pharmacology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2022). Their academic journey centers on cardiovascular pharmacology, delving deeply into the underlying mechanisms of cardiovascular physiology and electrophysiology. The research focuses on the actions of endothelium-derived dopamine and catecholamines, with particular attention to the innovative properties of 6-nitrodopamine (6-ND) and its role in regulating the cardiovascular system.During the doctoral studies, they made significant contributions to the characterization of non-neuronal catecholamines, challenging traditional paradigms regarding the exclusive role of the autonomic nervous system in cardiovascular regulation. Their work demonstrated that vascular endothelium is capable of synthesizing and releasing dopamine and 6-nitrodopamine, unveiling new layers of physiological and pharmacological control.Currently, their research interests include the molecular characterization of nitro-derived catecholamines, the impact of 6-nitrodopamine on cardiovascular pathologies, and potential therapeutic applications of these compounds in conditions such as heart failure and arterial hypertension.
