Specialist in Nautical Sciences from CIAGA-RJ, Brazilian Navy (2013), obtaining the title of Captain of national vessels up to 500 AB (2019) and Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO - Unlimited) from The Nautical Institute, London/UK (2017). Bachelors degree in Oceanography from UNIMONTE - Santos (2010) and coursework in Biological Sciences (Marine Biology) at UNESP CLP - São Vicente (2008-2012). Chemical Technician from FASPEC (2021). Worked as a Nautical Officer on shuttle tankers, PSV, oil recovery, diving, AHTS (TS and TO) vessels, and conducted maneuvers with Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles (ROV) for offshore subsea inspections, with extensive expertise in navigation, environmental monitoring, and survival at sea. Invited researcher at the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) for the MIREA oceanographic expedition, exploring hydrothermal vent sources along the mid-ocean ridge in the Indian Ocean. Participated in scientific expeditions with Global Garbage NGO. Completed the International Seabed Authority (ISA) training program through L'Institut Français de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la Mer (IFREMER), Brest, France (2021). Nominated for the CAPES Best Thesis Award 2020 (UERJ). Served as a professor at UNESP CLP (2022), teaching Biophysics, Biostatistics, Community and Ecosystem Ecology for undergraduate Biological Sciences courses (Bachelor's and Teaching Degrees). Serrapilheira Grantee at UFRJ, where he coordinates the DINOHAB project and supervises/co-supervises six undergraduate students (internships, scientific initiation, and thesis projects), three master's students, and two PhD candidates. Member of the collaborating faculty at the UFRJ Genetics Graduate Program. His research focuses on Biological Oceanography, Analytical Chemistry, Ecotoxicology, Marine Pollution, Biogeochemistry, Biomarkers, Microplastics, Nanoparticles, and Plankton Ecology.
