Maria Eduarda Grecco Bejarano Suenaga

Masters student in Geography at São Paulo State University (Unesp) Presidente Prudente Campus (CAPES rating: 7), in the Territorial Development research line. Researcher at the Brazilian Research Network on Spaces and Territories REDE DATALUTA since 2020, where she works on the development of the Database on Struggles for Spaces and Territories DATALUTA, focusing on data modeling and the production of the annual DATALUTA Reports, which systematize information on conflicts and actions of socio-territorial and socio-spatial movements in cities, rural areas, water territories, and forests. She is also a member of the Center for Studies, Research and Projects on Agrarian Reform NERA. She served as a technical support researcher in the project Scientific Contributions to Territorial Studies with Proposals for Public Policies for Sustainable Development, linked to the CNPq/MCTI/FNDCT Call No. 40/2022. The project investigates 23 territories across different regions of Brazil, addressing topics such as agrarian reform, agroecology, traditional peoples, rural education, and Venezuelan immigration, aiming to propose public policies aligned with the UNs 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Her undergraduate thesis analyzed organized urban occupations and the actions of popular housing movements in Brazil. During her undergraduate studies, she developed two Scientific Initiation projects one funded by CNPq and the other by FAPESP both focused on the spatial production carried out by student movements. Currently, she is dedicated to the technical enhancement of the DATALUTA database, with an emphasis on the use of advanced programming languages and data modeling to optimize data organization.
