Kelly Afonsina Fernandes graduated in Biological Sciences from Faculdade Pitágoras de Administração Superior (2012). She holds a Master's degree in Environment and Water Resources from the Federal University of Itajubá (2016) and a PhD in Sciences (Physiopathology and Toxicological Analysis) from the University of São Paulo (2020). She is currently a voluntary postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture at the University of São Paulo (CENA/USP). In her postdoctoral research, Dr. Kelly A. Fernandes focuses on various disciplines, including the monitoring and determination of cyanotoxins and environmental contaminants. She specializes in isolating natural products from cyanobacteria using advanced techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS).
