Bachelor in Social Sciences (DCSo) and master and doctoral candidate in Sociology from the Postgraduate Program in Sociology (PPGS) at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). He is a member and researcher of the study group Textures of Experience: Sociology and Studies of the African Diaspora (NEAB / UFSCar), coordinated by Prof. Dr Priscila Martins de Medeiros. As an undergraduate, he developed scientific initiation research, entitled "On virtual-diasporic narratives: practices of audiovisual representation and strategies of resistance in contemporary Hip-Hop", with funding from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). During his master's degree, he developed the research "Back to Afrofuturism: a sociological look at representations of Afrofuturism in Brazil", with funding from the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation (FAPESP). He is currently carrying out doctoral research "Black creative agency in Hip Hop culture: the professionalization of MCs in the transnational rhyme battle circuit". He has experience in the area of Sociology of Culture and African Diaspora Studies, with an emphasis on cultural practices, representation theory, black agency, Hip Hop, Afrofuturism, aesthetics and politics, and epistemology.
