Deputy Director General of the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory. Full Professor of the Department of Physics at Federal University of Minas Gerais, Ado Jorio works with research and development of scientific instrumentation in optics for the study of nanostructures with applications in new materials and biomedicine. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, the National Order of Scientific Merit (Comendador class) and The World Academy of Sciences. He held the positions of Coordinator of Strategic Studies and Information at Inmetro (2008-2009), vice-president of the Brazilian Physics Society (2023-2024) and, at UFMG, Director of the Technology Transfer Office (2010-2012), head of the Phyics Department (2015-2016), Dean of Research (2016-2018) and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Programs in Physics (2020-2022) and in Technological Innovation (2021-2023).
