Aldo Jose Gorgatti Zarbin

Graduate in Chemistry (1990), master in Inorganic Chemistry (1993) and PhD in Chemistry from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1997). Currently he is Full Professor at Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). Research leader of the Materials Chemistry Group at UFPR. Permanent member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK). Former Associated Editor of Quimica Nova. Former general secretary (2012-2014) and President (2016-2018) of the Brazilian Chemical Society. Supervisor of the best PhD thesis in Chemistry in Brazil (2015). Coordinator of several scientific projects, including the Nuclei of Excelence in Nanochemistry and Nanomaterials. Member of the Sdvisory boarder and former sub-coordinator (2016-2021) of the National Institute of Science and Technology of Nanocarbon Materials. Head of the Graduate Program in Chemistry at UFPR in 2000-2002 and 2011-2013. Scientist of the year, elected by the Newspaper Indústria e Comércio PR Brazil (2018). 160 Peer Reviewed Articles, 10 Patents, 4 Book Chapters, 1 Books, h index (36 ISI web of science, 42 Google scholar), ~4000 citation (ISI web of science). Total of 120 lectures in Scientific Conferences, Industries or Universities, in Brazil, Italy, France, Germany, UK, Ireland, Mexico, USA, Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey, Estonia, Finland and Belgium. His main scientific interests are the synthesis, characterization, study of properties and applications of different nanomaterials, as carbon nanotubes, metal nanoparticles, Prussian-blue analogues and conducting polymer-based nanocomposites; their preparation as thin films and their application in energy (batteries, supercapacitor, photovoltaics, H2 generation), sensors and catalysts.
