Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto (FMRP) (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal) Birthplace: Brazil
Bachelor of Biological Sciences from Centro Universitário do Planalto de Araxá (2005), Master of Science (Experimental Pathology Program) from the Medical School of Ribeirão Preto University of São Paulo (USP) (2009), and Doctor of Science (Fundamental Nursing Program) from the Nursing School of Ribeirão Preto University of São Paulo (USP) (2021). Alongside her postgraduate studies, she participated in technical training programs at the Blood Center of Ribeirão Preto, specializing in Cytogenetics, Immunofluorescence, and Cell Biology. During her masters studies, she investigated cytogenetic alterations in gliomas and their impact on patient survival. In her doctoral research, she isolated and characterized new bacteriophages and applied them to control biofilms in endotracheal tubes, with an emphasis on eliminating multidrug-resistant bacteria. She is a researcher in multiple study groups registered with CNPq, including Total Prosthesis Maintenance (FORP/USP), the Center for Studies on Infection Prevention and Control in Health Services (NEPECISS EERP/USP), and the Research Center for Biosafety in Health (NUPBios FORP/USP). Additionally, she is a member of the Human Exposome and Infectious Diseases Network (HEID). Since 2010, she has served as a Research and Development Support Technician at the Oral Rehabilitation Research Laboratory (FORP/USP), where she contributes to various research lines and participates in committees focused on administrative management. She collaborates on research projects with international universities, including the Medical University of Innsbruck (Austria), the University of Minho (Portugal), and the University of Barcelona (Spain). A major milestone in her career was her selection for the Strategic Program in Biomedicine and Health Sciences (ARISTOS), led by the CIBER network (Consorcio Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red) in Spain, as part of the Horizon Europe - Marie Sk#322;odowska-Curie Actions. Her research focuses on biofilm and infection control in Dentistry and healthcare settings, investigating the effectiveness of chemical hygiene solutions, surface modifications, and the use of natural products as preventive and therapeutic strategies. Additionally, she has been dedicated to the application of bacteriophages for controlling multidrug-resistant bacteria and reducing virulence, exploring their potential as an innovative alternative in combating infections associated with medical devices.
