Jaewon is a PhD student in Technological Pharmacy-Biochemistry at the University of São Paulo (FBT-FCF-USP). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology (EACH-USP, 2023) and has experience in scientific outreach with a focus on female involvement in science. Since 2021, she has been conducting scientific research at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of USP, focusing on the bioprospection of Brazilian cyanobacteria. She was a PUB-USP scholarship holder in the project "Bioprospection of Brazilian Cyanobacteria" and a FAPESP scholarship holder in the project "Secondary Metabolites Dereplication of Calothrix sp., Desertifilum tharense, and Leptolyngbya sp. using Metabolomics" in 2023, researching natural products from cyanobacteria using metabolomics tools. Currently, she is conducting research in the FAPESP project "Microscale Dereplication to Accelerate the Discovery of Natural Products from Cyanobacteria," focusing on the discovery of new molecules and accelerating the process through the use of HPLC.
